About SH:24

We’re on a mission to improve access to sexual and reproductive health services. We’re enhancing safe, user-centred and holistic care. And we’re proudly not-for-profit.

SH:24 is a free online sexual health service, delivered in partnership with the NHS.

SH:24 makes it easier for you to manage your sexual health. We provide free test kits, information and specialist advice – 24 hours a day. It’s quick, discreet and completely confidential.

SH:24 was set up by a team of public health professionals, sexual health clinicians, designers and academics.

SH:24 is designed around your needs. It works alongside existing NHS services with the simple aim of improving health and wellbeing. We continue to develop our services openly and alongside the people who use them.

Our vision and mission

Our vision is to be the world’s leading digital sexual and reproductive health provider, enabling people to manage their own sexual and reproductive health regardless of where they live, the situation they are in, or how much money they have.

We are on a mission to improve sexual and reproductive health by enhancing access to safe, user-centred, truly holistic and effective care.

We do this by designing services that are free or affordable, and enabling people to access and use self care.

Where you can get our services

SH:24 is currently commissioned to deliver free services in the following areas, but the range of services you can get does differ from area to area.

Outside these regions, we offer affordable sexual and reproductive health services via our sister service Fettle.

We’re working hard to build relationships in more regions so we can offer free services to everyone, regardless of where you live in the UK.

The best possible care

SH:24 is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (provider number 1-2519508791) and must meet the requirements for the regulated activities undertaken at the Practice.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is an independent health and social care regulator. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care. They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publish what they find, including performance ratings to help people choose their care.

In our most recent inspection report on 13 May 2022, the CQC rated SH:24 as ‘outstanding’. Tell the CQC what you think about SH:24 at any time using their Share Your Experience form.

We also work on a number of international projects, like self-test.hiv, a free service for ordering HIV self-test kits in Accra, Ghana and in Awka and Jalingo, in Nigeria.
